A real brick - that's Bolton's Peter Kay, whose face has been constructed out of Lego, to mark his appearance at Co-op Live.

Peter's show on Monday and Tuesday has again had to be postponed at the Co-op Live arena, as more testing of critical procedures to ensure all areas are ready for fans takes place.

But this week LEGOLAND Discovery Centre paid their own unique tribute with an intricate LEGO mosaic of the comedian’s face.

The mosaic includes more than 10,000 LEGO bricks and a light-up replication of the Co-Op Live logo.

It took 20 hours to build by Master Model Builder Jacob McPeake.

Jacob, from South Lakes, landed his dream role of LEGOLAND late last year, and is in charge of creating show-stopping LEGO sculptures at the attraction’s MINILAND.

The Peter Kay mosaic is just one of many sculptures he has created – at Christmas the Master Model made a one metre tall, impressive nutcracker figure which took him a staggering 16 hours to build.

He has also created a complex Pokémon Gigantamax Alcremie as well as creating giant superheroes using extra-large foam bricks at one of the centre’s adult only events.

Guests at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester will also be able to see a miniature Peter Kay performing on stage, all built out of LEGO.

The design comes just days after Peter Kay’s first gigs were rescheduled – again - to the end of May.
