READERS of The Bolton News have the chance to choose who will be named Bolton Council’s most helpful team or worker.

Previous finalists of the Best Customer Care award have included bin men who found £200 worth of stolen presents in a bin and handed them into police — ensuring that a family’s Christmas was not ruined.

Last year’s winner was Kayley Mabon, a children and families worker, who runs different groups at Little Lever Children Centre.

She was praised for the fun, relaxing and supportive sessions she runs for children. Parents praised her highly for her “get up and go attitude” and for always having a smile on her face.

The Bolton’s Best Awards take place every year and recognise the council’s top staff.

Other categories include best team worker, unsung hero, lifetime achievement award, best manager, best young worker and best team.

So do you know of a member of council staff who has given outstanding service or gone beyond the call of duty to help the public?
