THE junction of Minerva Road and Bradford Road will be closed again next Sunday for repairs.
Work started on the busy junction yesterday and will continue next weekend.
A Bolton Council spokesman said: “This is a busy junction which has seen substantial deterioration over recent years and is scheduled for repair as part of the £530,000 Bradford Road improvement scheme.”
Bradford Road will remain open during the works to maintain two-way traffic from Green Lane to Plodder Lane.
Greenland Road will be temporarily opened to traffic to provide a diversion during the closures to enable vehicle access to the hospital along Greenland Road from Minerva Road to Green Lane.
Residents will be able to access their properties during the works using the diversions that are in place.
Local residents and businesses have been informed of the plans.
A council spokesman added: “These are essential roadworks that necessitate the closure of the junction to ensure the safety of road users, pedestrians and workers onsite.
“The council would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused to local residents and road users, but every effort will be made to keep this to a minimum.”
For more information telephone the council’s customer helpline on 01204 336677.
