A CONVICTED stalker has failed in an attempt to have his case reopened at Bolton Magistrates Court.
Warren Dobson, aged 53, of Rossall Promenade, Cleveleys, was convicted in his absence on August 30 of two charges of stalking a former partner in Bolton.
He was convicted after sending her letters, Facebook messages and putting up posters in Bolton between December 2012 and July 2013 and pursuing a course of conduuct which amounted both stalking and harassment.
Yesterday Dobson appeared before magistrates to request that the case be reopened as he had been at hospital on the trial date with a fractured thumb.
He claimed he had sent letters to the court requesting that the trial be adjourned.
The court heard that an order was made against Dobson for harassment in 2011 against the same woman.
Magistrate decided not to reopen the case. They also adjourned the case for three weeks for reports and Dobson was granted conditional bail.
He must not enter Bolton unless to visit the court and must not contact the woman involved.
