Crompton Place holds fashion 'lock-in' for students
STUDENT shoppers took advantage of a dance and fashion extravaganza staged at a Bolton shopping centre.
Crompton Place opened up late especially for the student lock-in event which featured a series of pop-up fashion shows with talented dancers showcasing the very latest trends from retailers at the centre, including Scotts, Blue Inc, New Look, Specsavers, MIC, BHS, JD Sports and Primark.
DJ Hilly was also on hand to help get the student party going.
Malcolm Angus, Crompton Place manager, said: “This is the second year that we have staged such an event specially for the students who are some of the keenest trendsetters in Bolton.
“This year, we had the added dimension of the professional model dancers to create a high-energy atmosphere which I think went down really well with our fashion conscious student shoppers. There were also a huge range of special discounts and offers for them to take advantage of and our aim was to show local students what a great range of retailers we have on offer at Crompton Place.”
Retailers at the centre felt the event had been a huge success and many reported bumper sales figures on the night itself.
Romey Booth, assistant manager of Scotts, said: “Not only was there a terrific atmosphere that we all really enjoyed but it was also a very valuable way for us to showcase our latest stock.
“Quite a few people came in asking where they could get certain items which they had seen on the dancers.
“We took more than £500 in just a couple of hours.
“It was well worth us joining in and a terrific extra boost in sales at the end of the day.”
