THE 20th Bolton Beer Festival is in full flow at Bolton Rugby Club.

The event kicked off on Wednesday — with more than 200 cask ales on offer — and the fun will continue until this evening.

As well as the wide range of ales, there are lagers from all over the world and a broad selection of ciders.

For those with different tastes, there are wines, spirits and soft drinks on offer.

Guests can attend the festival for either a daytime or evening session today with entrance costing £3 for the noon to 6pm slot and £6 for the 7pm to midnight session.

The event, held at the club in Avenue Street, off Chorley Old Road, is raising funds for Bolton Lads and Girls club — to help them in their mission to provide a safe haven where young people can spend their free time.

Chairman of the club, Dave Singleton, and chief executive Karen Edwards OBE have already been down to the rugby club to see the festival in action and sample some of the ales on offer.
