A MOTORIST who crashed into a house after hitting a kerb has been spared a driving ban.
Westley Dudley, aged 21, of Fifth Avenue, Little Lever, pleaded guilty at Bolton Magistrates Court to two charges of driving without due care and attention and failing to stop after the accident on September 14.
The court heard that Dudley was driving along Marsh Road, Little Lever, when he lost control of a Seat Leon car.
It flipped over and hit a property in Ainsworth Road, before coming to a halt on its roof.
Dudley clambered out of the overturned vehicle through a window and left the scene. Adam Whittaker, defending, said the car was a vital for him to do his job at the Bolton Car Centre.
On the night it was foggy and wet and as he took a corner he clipped the kerb before overturning. He panicked and left the scene to go to his girlfriend’s home, the court heard. Magistrates gave Dudley seven penalty points, fined him £220 and cost of £35.
