A CRIMINAL was back committing crime within days of being released from custody.
Kevin Derbyshire, aged 23, returned to offending after being told by friends it was “his round”.
The defendant, of Bentley Court, Bolton, admitted stealing the £17 bottle of vodka from Asda in Bradford Street, Farnwoth, on September 24 at 7.30pm, just days after being released from custody.
Bolton Magistrates Court heard a PCSO identified Derbyshire after reviewing CCTV of the theft. He was later arrested at Farnworth Youth Centre in King Street.
Adam Whittaker, defending, said his client had been drinking in a group and when the alcohol ran out his friends said “your round” and he went out and stole a bottle which they then drank.
Chairman of the bench Ian Hilton, at Bolton Magistrates, granted Derbyshire bail on the condition he does not enter Asda. The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report. He will be sentenced on Friday, November 8.
