Tests to find out how murdered teenager Jayden Parkinson died

The Bolton News: Jayden Parkinson Jayden Parkinson

IT may take up to six weeks to establish the cause of death of a Bolton man’s murdered teenage daughter, according to police.

Jayden Parkinson, aged 17, was found in a disturbed grave in Didcot, Oxfordshire, on December 18 after being missing for 15 days.

Post-mortem examinations on Thursday were “inconclusive” and failed to determine how the teenager, whose father Paul went to school in Bolton, died.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: “A post-mortem examination has now been completed on the body believed to be that of Jayden Parkinson.

“The examination, which was carried out by a Home Office pathologist, found the cause of death to be inconclusive.”

It is understood from police investigating Jayden’s murder that fresh toxiocology tests on the teenager’s body may take six weeks to establish her cause of death.

Jayden’s father Paul, who attended the defunct Breightmet High School in the 1980s, paid tribute to his daughter on Facebook.

He said: “Good night baby girl, I will miss you so much and I love you always.” Ben Blakeley, aged 22, Jayden’s ex-boyfriend, was charged with her murder this week, before her body was discovered.

A 17-year-old boy from Didcot has been charged with perverting the course of justice and has also appeared in court.
