THE season of giving was in full swing as salon staff dressed up on Christmas Eve to raise money for Bolton Hospice and supermarket staff put smiles on the faces of hospital children and staff with a toy donation.
Christmas jumpers, Santa hats and reindeer outfits were on display at Original Hair Studio in Higher Bridge Street.
Customers were invited to make donations as part of the event, which has been held every Christmas for 10 years.
Salon owner Sandra Kotecha, said: “Everybody’s in such good spirits at this time of year and I want to say a big thank you to those who donated.”
Staff from Tesco in Long Causeway, Farnworth, donated £60 worth of new toys to the Royal Bolton Hospital children’s Ward.
Store manager Warren Sheady, community champion Dave Eglinton and service manager Claire Seddon presented the gifts.
Receiving them were play worker Rachel Chadwick, play specialist Laura Gasson and staff nurse Lisa Clemmett.
