A MAN has been charged with attempting to murder his estranged wife outside a school in Farnworth.

William Berry, aged 50, of Masefield Road, Little Lever, is accused of stabbing his 52-year-old wife, who is a dinner lady at St James School in Farnworth.

The charges related to an alleged incident in Highfield Road, near the school, on Tuesday, August 15, last year.

Berry is due to appear at Manchester City Magistrates Court tomorrow.
