YOUNGSTERS and teachers at Claypool Primary School in Horwich are that little bit safer thanks to the donation of 275 high visibility vests and coats from a Bolton traffic management company.

2 Works Traffic Management carried out works near the school in Chorley New Road for Bolton Council in last year.

The work involved two-way temporary traffic signals being installed for use in peak hours, but the disruption prompted 2 Works managing director Chris Hart to make the donation.

I well remember being issued with such attire whilst in Primary school.
The term we used then was diddy jackets.
