A POLICE officer will push himself to the limit during a charity challenge to complete a six-hour boot camp.
PC Sean Long, who trains officers for GMP, will be raising money for the Steve Prescott Foundation.
The charity supports the Christie Hospital and the Rugby League Benevolent fund.
Steve Prescott was a former English international Rugby League player who lost a seven-year battle with cancer in November last year.
PC Long, who plays rugby, joined forces with gym boss Chris Worthington to arrange a fundraiser.
Mr Worthington agreed to open his gym, Worthy Fitness Centre in Industrial Estate, Chorley New Road, tomorrow for the challenge.
PC Long is hoping to raise £1,000 by doing boot camp sessions back-to-back. It will include 120 workout stations involving a mixture of strength and endurance exercises.
He said: “I am hoping to raise £1,000 and beyond for a great cause inspired by a man that can only be described as a Warrior in every sense of the word.”
People are enouraged to take part in the sessions, which will start each hour between 10am and 4pm. It will cost people £3 to take part in the fitness class, with the money going to the cause. The classes are for adults only.
A cake sale and other activities will be taking place to boost funds.
People can also donate money by going to justgiving.com.
