CROSS Lane in Radcliffe remains closed after a pub's roof collapsed yesterday, trapping a 36-year-old man inside.
The road has been closed in both directions between Park Street and Butterworth Street since around 4.30pm yesterday after the man, who was carrying out building work at The George pub, had to be rescued by police.
Paramedics were called but the man is not believed to be seriously injured.
The pub is now cordoned off and experts are at the scene assessing whether to demolish it.
A police spokesman said: "The police attended and cordoned off the area for the safety of the public.
"The man had scans for his injuries but at this time they are not of major concern."
