THE Taste contestant Debbie Halls-Evans continued with her rollercoaster ride on the Channel 4 cookery show on Tuesday night.

Mrs Halls-Evans, from Horwich but lives in Blackrod, was ecstatic when she once again won immunity from elimination after guest chef Simon Rogan chose her spoon as his favourite.

The remaining six contestants had to create a dish using leftovers, so Mrs Halls-Evans presented a cauliflower risotto with crispy chicken skin which her mentor Ludo Lefebvre described as “elegant”.

But the second challenge, where mentors Ludo, Nigella Lawson and Anthony Bourdain become judges, Mrs Halls-Evans found herself in the bottom three with her dish of poached quince and pancetta tart after the contestants were set the challenge to incorporate alcohol into their dish.

Mrs Halls-Evans breathed a sigh of relief when she was told she was safe thanks to her immunity, and team mate Kirstie was sent home leaving two contestants on each team.

The next episode is on Tuesday, February 25, from 9pm.
