FIREFIGHTERS tackled a moorland blaze near Egerton.
The flames broke out at about noon today on open land off Cox Green Road and spread across 1km of land.
Firefighters from Darwen and Horwich said the cause of blaze is unknown.
It took crews two hours to douse the flames but the area is now safe.
