HUNGRY shoppers from across Bolton flocked to the Market Place Europe, which was in residence in Victoria Square this week.

Artisan breads, fresh olives and award-winning chutneys were just some of the tasty treats on offer at the dozen stalls, which also included hot food stands and independent clothes sellers.

Cllr Nick Peel, the executive cabinet member for environmental services, said it was brilliant to welcome one of the UK’s leading special event market companies to Bolton.

He added: “We’re pleased that this event has become a regular feature on our events calendar.

“It’s a brilliant market with a real variety of food, crafts and gifts on offer.

“The market’s on until Sunday so come down this weekend and make the most of it.

“We’ve got free parking on offer at all the NCP multi-storeys and of course our brilliant revamped Bolton Market is also open on Saturdays.”
