A REPORT into the emergency procedures for reporting CCTV faults in Westhoughton does not provide "satisfactory" answers, according to the town councillor who requested it.
Cllr Phil Ashcroft, Conservative member for Edale, criticised the report compiled by Westhoughton town clerk Christine Morris at a council meeting tonight.
At last month's meeting Cllr Ashcroft demanded answers after revelations that four of the council-funded cameras were out of action at the time of an armed robbery at the Co-op store on January 6.
Cllr Ashcroft demanded CCTV coverage be included on the agenda for the next council meeting, as he argued the report did not satisfactorily explain why it would be illegal for council leader Cllr David Chadwick to monitor faults when the town clerk is away from work.
The latest planning applications received by the council were also discussed by members.
A member of the public who only moved to the town six weeks ago also raised concerns about littering in Westhoughton, which members vowed to address at the next council meeting.
