A ROBBER who was once branded a “blight on society” when he was jailed is being hunted by police.

Jason Wilding, aged 20, threatened his victim with a knife during a robbery in Spa Road, Bolton, in August 2012.

He was released from custody in March but has since breached his licence conditions and is now wanted on recall to prison.

Police said Wilding has links to Gilnow but do not know where he is now.

Det Ch Insp Rick Jackson, from Bolton CID, said: “Wilding has used violence in the past and produced a knife in the robbery for which he is on licence for, therefore he is not to be approached by members of the public.

“Should anybody be found to be assisting or harbouring this wanted man, they too will face being arrested and a possible prison sentence of their own.”

Wilding has a catalogue of previous convictions dating back to 2007.

It includes disorderly behaviour, thefts, criminal damage, intimidating witnesses, handling stolen goods, common assault, threatening behaviour and possession of a knife, and he has also had an ASBO.

Anyone with information can phone police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
