A SHOP assistant is celebrating working at an Astley Bridge supermarket for 43 years.
Lisa Bezkorowajnyj, aged 58, celebrated her landmark by cutting a ribbon to launch a revamp at Asda in Moss Bank Way, Astley Bridge.
Mrs Bezkorowajnyj has seen the supermarket transform significantly over the long years she has worked there.
She said: “I started working at the Astley Bridge store 43 years ago in April, 1971 — it opened 44 years go.
“It was my first job and I still enjoy it. I enjoy helping customers and a lot of them know me now, I like that. The shop has changed a lot over the years.
“It was quite different when I joined, it was smaller and there is more variety.
"There is also a lot more going on at the store now. Working at Asda is a job but I do enjoy it.
"It doesn’t feel like I have worked here a long time”
The shop assistant, from Bolton, now works part-time at the store, working four days a week.
The refurbishments at the store include a new fish counter.
