MANCHESTER United fans are being offered the chance to play football on theOld Trafford pitch while raising money to support cancer treatment for young people at The Christie.
Teams of between 11 and 15 players can enter the Christie Dream Team, which will take place at Old Trafford on May 21.
At least six teams will compete against each other at the Theatre of Dreams before enjoying a post tournament meal and talk from a mystery celebrity speaker.
The Christie Dream Team Cup teams will have full access to the changing rooms before the match, line up in the players’ tunnel to run on to the pitch and have access to the dugout.
Teams will also have their photograph taken in the centre of the pitch and action photographs from the match will be available afterwards.
Family, friends and colleagues are all welcome to cheer their team along in the stands.
Places in the Dream Team Cup are initially only open to groups at a cost of £6,000 per team, for up to 15 players — a team of 11 plus four “rolling” substitutes.
Individuals may be able to join in at a cost of £500, subject to availability.
The money raised will help teenage and young cancer patients at The Christie and support the new Palatine Treatment Centre, which provides 31 state of the art beds for haematology and transplant patients and teenage and young adult patients.
