FAMILIES flocked to Smithills Hall to enjoy fun activities in the historic ground.
From frog trails to making birds nests, youngsters made the most of the sunny weather.
Museum chiefs hailed Bank Holiday Monday as a success.
A council spokesman said: “We were fortunate with the weather on Monday so visitors were able to enjoy outdoor activities in the grounds.
"Families took part in a fun frog trail, where they had to find green card frogs hidden in the grass, and children enjoyed taking part in the free craft activities, making a bird’s nest.
“Visitors could also take part in guided tours of the hall and it was a very pleasant day.”
Smithills Hall has more spring-themed family activities planned for the next Bank Holiday Monday at the end of May.
They will also be running “Fantastic Fridays” from July 25.
