THESE investment experts know a thing or two about raising funds — and so put their skills to good use by collecting £5,500 for charity.

Harewood Associates, in Chorley New Road, raised £3,000 by donating a luxury Florida holiday to be used in a raffle for clients, adding to the company’s donation of £2,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Peter Kiely, director at Harewood, said: “Macmillan has a particular personal resonance with me.

“In recent years, I have lost my dear mother and many close friends and relatives to cancer and, in those dark times, the light that Macmillan provided was invaluable.”

Rose Tipton, fundraising manager at Macmillan, said: “It is fantastic that Harewood Associates are getting behind our latest campaign to make sure no one faces cancer alone.

“We are extremely grateful to everyone involved.”

Harewood Associates intends to hold a number of small events throughout 2014 to take the total donation to the £10,000.
