BOLTON journalist and presenter Victoria Derbyshire is to launch a new daily news and current affairs programme.
Victoria will be moving to the BBC News Channel after 16 years of on Radio 5 Live.
The BBC said she will "develop a television programme that will feature exclusive interviews, agenda-setting discussion and audience debates" as well as breaking news.
The programme, which will also be shown online and will use what the BBC is calling "innovative" ways of interacting with the audience via social media.
Details have not yet been released.
The BBC's director of news and current affairs, James Harding, said: “Victoria has rightly won many awards for her ability to find the stories that matter in the lives of people in this country.
"We are very excited to bring her range of interests, determination to get to the bottom of the story, and her capacity to surprise, to a television audience.”
