HUNDREDS of family, friends and well-wishers said goodbye to inspirational Natalie Poole at her funeral.

The service, at Agecroft Cemetery and Crematorium in Salford yesterday, was open for anyone to attend after the 34-year-old touched the lives of so many with her story.

Tributes were left for the 34-year-old, who lost her battle with cervical cancer on July 5, on her Facebook page, with many saying “RIP angel” and “sleep tight beautiful princess”.

Miss Poole’s last wishes were that a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes were placed on top of her white coffin, and a bag of her belongings was buried with her so she could look “glamorous” in heaven.

The Bolton News reported last week that Miss Poole’s friend Damien Platt, who has terminal cancer, was honoured to be a pallbearer at the service.

However Mr Platt, who developed melanoma after three years of sunbed use, was unable to attend after being taken ill over the weekend.

On Facebook, he said: “Feel like I’ve let Natalie right down but I’m just too sick to leave hospital. Absolutely gutted like you wouldn’t believe. RIP angel.”

Miss Poole had 20 appointments at Kearsley Medical Centre before she was diagnosed with cervical cancer in July last year.

Despite her diagnosis in July last year, the mum-of-one, who used to live in Stoneclough, worked tirelessly for charity, raising £17,000 for The Christie and Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust at a fundraiser in February.

Members of her family have said they will continue to fundraise in her memory and have already brought in more than £3,000 by taking part in the Race for Life at Leverhulme Park on July 6 and at Heaton Park last weekend.
