PEOPLE of all ages were invited to a family service at St Peter’s CE Primary School in Farnworth.
The service, attended by about 30 visitors, was held by St Peter’s Church, which used to be next door to St Peter’s CE Primary School, but was demolished two years ago to make way for the school’s £2 million expansion.
Lynn Williams, the school’s headteacher, said: “The service was greatly appreciated by young and old as it brought together the worshipping community of St Peter's and marked the beginning of a new era for the parishioners, one which, it is hoped, will now flourish for many years to come.”
As part of the service, the school created a human timeline where each person stood in date order for the time they first became involved with St Peter's.
St Peter’s Church holds a family service every month at St Peters CE Primary School, which is now a hub for learning, worship and after-school activities.
