Hit-and-run victim still critical after crash that threw him 50 feet along Wigan Road

 A LEIGH man has been charged with a hit-and-run in Deane.

Martyn Jones, also known as Martyn O’Neil, aged 39, of Cameron Street, Leigh, was arrested after the incident in Wigan Road, Deane, on Friday.

Tekie Yamani, the 37-year-old pedestrian, is still in hospital in a serious condition.

Jones appeared in Bolton Magistrates Court on Monday morning charged with dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene.

He was remanded into custody and will appear at Bolton Crown Court on August 8.
