So is friggin' egerton but you wouldn't say it happened over there. The Bolton news will be extinct in three years time. It's just a crap newspaper. Last five to seven years it has recruited proper dregs of reporters.

Apologies for the double post. So real reporting would help. Was it caused by speed and or dunk/drugs? Any arrests? Are the drivers insured? Who is paying for the damage?

Given the lack of detail and the erroneous information this really wasn't worth publishing!

Apologies folks - we had some incorrect information last night about it being near Crompton Way. It was in fact near Blackbank Street, in Halliwell. Sorry about that.

then why be real reporters, `at the scene`??
instead of relying on 2nd and 3rd hand information while you sit in an air conditioned office??
keyboard wimps!

Blackbank st. is NOT in Halliwell,Blackbank st. ends at Blackburn rd. Where the Bowling green pub was.You have to cross Blackburn rd. to enter into Halliwel. As for Astley Bridge the rule of thumb was it ran from Crompton Way south to the "Iron Church". As for Relph's funeral home it's 100 yards south of Blackbank st. It is in a very handy location considering all the speedsters in that area, lot's of potential business.

I've dealt with many of the local 'Feds' in years gone past and they aren't so sure about where they actually are.

Only a few months ago, one of the full time area plods asked me exactly where he was. Reason being when I chatted with him was that he comes from Rainhill near Saint Helens to work in Bolton. Fair do's, not everyone can know exactly where they are at certain times.

Either way they snoozepaper is dire.

If I were a current employee of the Bolton Snooze I would be looking for other employment. I agree with many who think that this rag of a snoozepaper can't viably carry on the way it is doing.
