THEY have spent their careers helping Bolton’s young people.
And now these school staff have walked out of the playground gates for the last time.
As the summer term ended, pupils said farewell to some of their favourite teachers, secretaries and staff.
Headteacher of Bolton Parish Church School, Jackie Bunyan, is retiring after 19 years and was given a carnival send off.
She said: “Bolton Parish Church School is very much ‘One School For One World’ — a family affair.
“It has been a privilege getting to know so many families and teaching their children.
“The fun day send off was typical, that is, celebrating our togetherness in the journey of a wide education. I will certainly miss the friendship, challenge and excitement that we have shared.”
She added: “In the new chapter of my life my husband tells me that I will enjoy the challenge of mountain walking in the Lake District! No rest for me then!
“I would like to thank the children, parents, staff, governors, church and colleagues across Bolton for their friendship and support. Thank you.”
