A DANCE teacher is encouraging children to get moving this summer to stay fit and healthy.

Inspired by the NHS’s Change4Life campaign, Pamela Knowles hopes to encourage children to become more active through dance.

Her summer school, being held at Twizzles Dance And Fitness, Lee Lane, Horwich, features a packed programme of education, fun and fitness.

With activities including singing, dancing and musical theatre, pupils will learn various skills to enhance balance, listening skills, agility and co-ordination, both vocally and physically.

Pamela said: “I believe children and parents are unaware of the skills that you can acquire in performing arts.

“Dancing teaches balance and confidence, singing teaches control and projection and musical theatre teaches creativity and expression.”

She also hopes participants will be inspired to transfer the skills they learn to other activities, such as running and gymnastics.
