A CONMAN has been jailed for tricking a car buyer out of more than £1,500 after his victim appealed for help on a adult swingers’ site.

Jason Hart, aged 38, duped victim Simon Potter after he said he wanted to buy a car, but was struggling to gain finance due to having a poor credit rating.

Bolton Magistrates Court heard Hart replied to Mr Potter’s message saying he worked at Carcraft, vehicle dealers, and could get him a car.

Hart took £1,500 from Mr Potter, and when his cash ran out he handed over his iPhone 5, worth £350.

Mr Potter became suspicious when Hart contacted him to say he had lost his job due to arranging credit.

He called Carcraft and found he had fallen foul to fraud. Hart, of Moorside Avenue, Farnworth, pleaded guilty to fraud.

Hart was said to have committed the crime due to being in debt and had been tempted by the appeal on the website.

Bolton magistrates jailed Hart for 26 weeks for preying on “innocent” Mr Potter, and ordered him to pay his victim £1,850.
