BOLTON School was transformed into Hogwarts for a Harry Potter-themed wedding reception on a reality TV show.

Sean and Nicole Davies featured on BBC Three’s Don’t Tell the Bride, to tie the knot with a wizards and witches themed marriage.

Mr Davies was left to create the perfect wedding for his bride-to-be with the programme’s £12,000 budget.

To theme their big day around his love of Harry Potter Mr Davies, a barber, braved the weather and booked a wedding ceremony at Rivington Country Park followed by a reception at Bolton School in Chorley New Road.

Bolton School’s Art’s and Conference Centre was transformed into a Hogwarts-style dining hall complete with smoke, wands hanging from the ceiling, long tables and a sorting hat for guests to find where they would be sitting.

Retail assistant Mrs Davies, said: “We both like a bit of fun and I thought a mystery wedding would be fantastic, so I started the ball rolling but once we were accepted for the programme, it was torture not knowing what Sean was planning for the big day.

"The wait was nerve-wracking. I had no idea what was going on.”

Mr Davies, aged 23, from St Helens, was given three weeks to plan the big day while his future wife moved back home with her mother while planning for the day took place.

She added: “The wedding day was amazing. Sean loves Harry Potter and although I’m not the biggest fan myself, I have to admit it was a great wedding theme.”

The wedding took place on April 25 and was shown on BBC on Tuesday.

David Tilbrook, BSS events manager said: “The wizard-themed wedding is certainly one of the more spectacular and impressive weddings that we have held here at Bolton School.

"We are always looking at ways to help couples make their day special and having a theme like this is one way of making it unforgettable.

“The style of the venue does lend itself towards that type of theme but we have adapted it for many other themes.

“We had an Alice In Wonderland themed wedding last month.

“We try and make every wedding here special for the bride and groom and so will always go the extra mile to make sure that their day is perfect.”
