AN inquest into the death of tragic teenager Aleysha McLaughlin is expected to take place next year.

A pre-inquest review into the death of the 16-year-old, who was also known as Aleysha Rothwell, was held at Bolton Coroners Court yesterday.

The teenager was found hanging at her foster carer’s home in Crossdale Road, Breightmet, on April 3.

A review into Aleysha’s death is being carried out by Bolton Council and the Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMW).

Coroner Jennifer Leeming adjourned the inquest until the review is complete, which is expected to be in November.

Mrs Leeming said: “I should have received the review by late November. We will have one further pre-inquest review before the hearing.”

The next pre-inquest review will be held on December 5.

The full inquest is expected to start on March 10 next year.

Aleysha’s mother, sister, grandfather and auntie were at the hearing along with Det Insp Charlotte Cadden, from Bolton North Neighbourhood Policing Team, Bolton NHS Foundation Trust and GMW.
