TV game show host Paddy McGuinness is backing a drive to put life-saving heart machines in schools.

Last year The Bolton News launched its Every School Leaver a Life Saver campaign after Whites star Fabrice Muamba suffered a heart attack on the pitch during an FA Cup tie.

The campaign promotes the teaching of emergency life saving skills in schools and for defibrillators to be placed in as many public places as possible.

The Hand on Heart charity — which Paddy is supporting — helps equip schools across the UK with life-saving defibrillators.

Figures show that twelve young people die each week due to sudden cardiac arrest.

The charity has equipped 400 schools with a life-saving device across the UK.
