A MAN has been found dead at a house in Bromley Cross.

Police guards were posted outside the house in Bromley Cross Road, opposite Turton School, today, after the 56-year-old was found by ambulance crews at about 5.30pm yesterday.

Post-mortem tests were carried out this afternoon, and police have ruled out any suspisious circumstances.

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended and a 56-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death."

Neighbours said police stayed at the scene all night.

One said: “I did ask what had happened but was told that there had been an incident, and there was nothing for residents to worry about.

“I don’t know who lived there but there was a lot of police activity. CSI was here in the morning until the afternoon.”

Another added: “A rapid response ambulance vehicle was first on the scene and then the police came and stayed all night, but we don’t know what has happened.”
