A YOUNG cheerleader is celebrating after making it to the semi-final of a national beauty pageant.
Amy Rothwell, aged 11, with the help of mum Andrea, is now hoping to make it through to the final of Little Miss Teen Great Britain which will take place at The Globe in Blackpool in October.
The St Peter's Smithills Dean CE Primary School pupil, who is in the Hunter’s Cheerleading squad, has sent off several pictures to the judges who will decide if she gets through.
Mum Andrea, aged 44, of Crompton Way, Astley Bridge, said: “This is the first beauty competition that Amy has ever entered.
“She is on the books at a modelling agency but most of the jobs are down in London so it’s hard to get to them.
“This is the first year they have had a Little Miss Teen category which is for girls aged 11 to 13.”
