VAN driver Aimee-Jayne Cavanagh could have started on a journey of romance after being chosen on Saturday night show 'Take Me Out'.

The former Turton High School pupil, who works for a Blackburn-based logistics firm, had been appearing on the ITV1 dating show since it launched earlier this month.

But on Saturday, she finally found a potential partner when model-maker Adam, from Bristol, picked out the 29-year-old.

It was also revealed by Bolton host Paddy McGuinness that Aimee-Jayne had once set her hair, eyebrow and eyelashes on fire while out on a date - with a fireman.

She explained: "I was trying to look sultry over a candle."

After being selected by Adam, Aimee-Jayne said afterwards: "I didn't pack to go to the Isle of Fernandos.

"I packed about 30 dresses for the show.

"My outfits on the dates are absolutely horrendous.

"I ended up wearing pumps the whole time I was there, other than that I only had heels.

"I had a couple of dresses that were a bit more summery and a bright pink playsuit which looks nice on a night out but not really on a day date in the middle of Tenerife, with flat pumps.

"We didn't finish filming until 11pm and they have you straight to the airport.

"We slept for two hours and they got us up for the flight out.

"We landed in Tenerife and were picked up and taken straight to the hotel.

"We were up first thing in the morning, ready for the date."

I'm really not into guys that are extrovert, I don't like selfies and all that type of thing.

"He just seemed like a really genuine down-to-earth guy.

"I think I knew he was going to pick me, just from the way he looked at me during the questions.

"I was just relaxed about it."

Aimee-Jayne, who grew up in Egerton and Bromley Cross, before moving to Horwich and now Blackburn, went to the TV studios in Maidstone to film the show in November.
