A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "There was a collision between a car and a 14-year-old boy.

"It looks like he had a fractured lower leg.

"The road was briefly closed and it was reopened at 1.25pm."

A spokeswoman for North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 12.30pm to the junction of Albert Road and Glynne Street.
