TALENTED youngsters took to the stage to tell the Christmas story.

Year One and Two pupils at Beech House – Bolton School's infant school – spread the true message of the festive season through traditional carols and a performance of the nativity.

The concert opened with Starry Night to set the scene.

Popular carols, including Little Donkey, Silent Night, While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks, Hark the Herald Angels Sing and We Three Kings were also sung much to the delight of the audience.

A spokesman for Bolton School said: "There were also some special treats as part of the programme. A group of six pupils gave a delightful and sweet rendition of ‘Away in a Manger’ as a series of solos.

"The children also sang the French carol ‘Viens Regarde’ with actions to help explain the foreign language lyrics.

"Parents, grandparents and siblings were encouraged to join in and sing along with some of the carols, which made the event all the more enjoyable.

"The performance ended with a rousing chorus of ‘Ding Dong Merrily on High’ which really got everyone into the Christmas spirit."
