A CHURCH is on track to hit its target as it attempts to cycle from one Harwood to another.
Harwood Methodist Church has been totting up cash for the past nine years to build a new community centre and church in Longsight Lane.
The church’s fundraising group is hopeful that the building can start early next year and has been staging various events to reach £50,000.
The church realised that when you search on the internet for Harwood Methodist Church the top results are for its Bolton church – and one with the same name in Albuquerque, in the United States.
Church members and the public have been taking to four exercise bikes outside Debenhams in The Market Place shopping centre since Sunday to take on the 2,028 land miles between the two.
The church group looks set to meet the target before it finishes tonight.
