Very sad to hear of the death of Mr Wilkinson. I was a pupil of St Greg's from 1970-75 and have fond memories of Mr Wilkinson. Each year the teachers would play the cricket team. Mr Wilkinson surprised us all by how fast he would bowl his first over. Given his smoking habits at the time his second over was a lot slower. We all prayed that we would face his second over to stand any chance of seeing the ball. He always had time to chat to the kids. I was lucky to meet him again in 1996 whilst as was working in a bank in Bolton. It was great to see him and he certainly looked in great health. My condolences to all his family and friends.
