DAMIAN and EVAN McMANUS Father and Son Damian aged 51 years, formerly of Lostock, Bolton and past pupil of Thornleigh Salesian College and Evan aged 18 years, both of St Louis Park, Minneapolis, U.S.A. Lost in a sudden snowstorm in the wilderness of Arapajo National Park, Colorado. Died 3rd April 2014, Found 17th July 2014. Requiem Mass was celebrated at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Idaho Springs, Colorado. Damian leaves Katherine, a loving wife and mother and a dearly loved daughter, Lauren. Evan was a much loved son and a loving twin brother to Lauren. Damian, a dearly loved son of Maureen and the late Bill McManus, also the much loved brother of Liam, Anne, Peter, Karen, Bernadette, Christine and Sean and a dear brother in law. Damian and Evan will be missed by Evan's grandmothers, their aunts, uncles, cousins and Damian's many nephews and nieces. Over 800 people gathered at the Church of St. Joan of Arc, St. Louis Park, on 14th August for a service and celebration of life. Moving tributes were paid by family, friends, fellow students and work colleagues. They said that their lives were better for having known Damian and Evan. The McManus family will be forever grateful to the officials and rescue volunteers who searched in dangerous conditions in their determination to bring Damian and Evan home. The sympathy and generosity of the many communities who continuously supported the family during these past months is greatly appreciated. The family wish to thank Father Jones, their relations, friends and the parishioners of St. Mary's for their Mass intentions and prayers during this difficult time. Holy Mass will be offered for the repose of the souls of Damian and Evan at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Horwich on Saturday, September 6th at 11am.
