DAN and Jim Sherry are two examples of local lads who have made good. They were born and bred here in Bolton and were part of a family team that built up a big music hall reputation. Besides Dan and Jim there were three other brothers, making a quintet that went a very long way. Nowadays the tradition is being maintained by the two of them, who, ambitious as ever, have got together a road show and called it Mine's a Sherry. SCHOOLGIRLS have started carrying personal alarms after sex attacks in the Bolton area, a court was told. While the man who carried out the assaults was being held in custody, police officers took the unusual step of re-interviewing the girls to find out the effects of being molested. Mr Steven Sargeant, prosecuting, told Bolton magistrates that one 16-year-old girl said all her school friends were now carrying personal alarms. read more
