  • More toilets needed

SIR: I read with dismay recently that the council have closed the toilets on Bridge Street. Surely we want more toilets, not fewer, whatever age you are, but more so the elderly and those on water tablets who are forever on the look-out for toilets. The council say they are too run-down and costly to repair. They should have spent a little money on them, year by year, instead of neglecting them. Have they never heard of preventative maintenance? Oh no, forget about it and, when it does need money spending on it, close it, or knock it down. They are talking of spending millions on Bolton in the future, but basics like enough toilets don't come into it. (We are here to serve the people!) I don't believe it. Talk about getting one's priorities wrong. read more
