NON-LEAGUE: RMI eye new boys

LEIGH RMI entertain Guiseley tonight with the possibility of having two new faces in the squad. Manager Steve Waywell is expecting to sign Chorley's Tony Black and Steve Tobin from Stalybridge.

Former Wigan Athletic player Black is a 26-year-old speedy winger, while Tobin, 25, started his career at Leeds before playing in the Conference with Leek and Macclesfield. The central midfielder has been a long time target for Waywell, and it is hoped he will join the Railwaymen in a straight swap for Steve Pickford.

Meanwhile Waywell's injury problems have eased, with Graham Hill coming through a rigorous training session on Saturday and is in line to be recalled tonight.

Dave Ridings is rated no better than 50/50, with Stuart Locke definitely out. ATHERTON LR and Ramsbottom United clash at Crilly Park tonight in the North Western Trains League Division One.

Rovers welcome back Anthony Smith and Mike Smith from injury but Chris (brother of Anthony) is still sidelined with a groin strain. Steve Bird is suspended but there is better news of central defender Steve Dixon who takes the next tentative steps towards a full return from a leg injury with a run-out in the reserve game at Ashton United. The Rams go into the derby game buoyant after a superb showing on Saturday at Workington despite a 3-2 defeat. Former Bolton Wanderers youth player Gareth Feeney is added to Ken Bridge's squad. The LR number is 01942 883950.

ATHERTON Colls should be well used by now to the rigmarole involved in the Floodlit Trophy.

They are scheduled to play Clitheroe at home tonight. If that's off, it's tomorrow night and, should that also be postponed, the tie will be switched to Clitheroe to be played on Thursday night. This is the same sort of experience that dogged the club's previous round encounter with Prescot Cables.

Manager Alan Lord will be without centre back John Doyle but Colin Lomas and Paul Griffin return. The Colls number is 01942 884649.

RADCLIFFE Boro have a big night with Unibond League Division One side Ashton Utd the visitors to Stainton Park in the Unifilla Cup semi final first leg.
