Fire crew rescues tree climb boy

AN embarrassed boy who had got stuck up a tree had to rescued by firefighters.

A Chorley fire crew got 12-year-old Jordan Makinson down from the tree on Huyton Terrace in Adlington at 8pm yesterday. He had been stuck there for one-and-a-half hours.

Leading firefighter Paul Ratcliffe from Chorley fire station said: "It was quite a simple operation to get him down. He was about 15 feet up so we put a ladder to the tree and one of our firefighters went up and walked him down.

"He was a bit shaken up but and embarrassed but it's no laughing matter when that happens."
