ONCE again I see that Canon Michael Williams, along with other prominent clerics of the Anglican church and other church members, are at loggerheads over where they stand on homosexuality.
There are those who are for tolerance, and those who are totally opposed.
Some say there should be a debate, but I do not see how you debate with God -- his word is final.
Some use words like bigot or fascist. Are they saying God is a bigot or fascist?
All we hear is what the church has to say, and what various clerics say. I am interested only in what God has to say, and it is up to the clergy to teach us God's word out of the Christian scriptures.
If they think they are right, let them show us in that way not their own personal interpretation. Let them quote from scripture, for instance it says at 2 Timothy 3: 16-17 "All scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, reproving and setting things straight".
Taking this as the basis that the Christian Bible is God's word, then the scriptures answer the question for us over homosexuality. Look at Romans 1:18-27 or 1: Corinthians 6:9-10, which clearly condemns it as being totally wrong in God's eyes.
Man may have his own viewpoint, but it would be better if God had the last word through scripture.
