Payout time for residents with bright ideas

COMMUNITIES in Bolton are set to be transformed, thanks to thousands of pounds worth of grants.

The Community Training and Enabling programme has been set up to help housing association residents to get involved in decisions about the regeneration of their neighbourhoods.

Grants range from £1,000 to £150,000 and have been used for a variety of projects. In the past they have been used to provide items such as communication training for black and minority ethnic residents, and employing workers to explain regeneration choices.
