Whites chief's charity speech

Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside will speak about the highs and lows of Premiership football at a charity dinner next month.

He will address Westhoughton Rotary Club at a weekly fundraising dinner on Thursday November 6.

Organisers are expecting Mr Gartside to prove a big draw for members, with all proceeds from the night going to the Wanderers' charity of the year, Coronary Care Appeal.

The appeal will also be one of the two good causes to benefit from Alan Thomas' year as president.

His other chosen charity, Derian House, will also be presented with a cheque for £1,000 on the night.
