Darren's fright night

A FARNWORTH policeman will spend a spine-tingling night in one of Britain's most haunted castles to raise money for terminally ill children.

PC Darren Whitehead, along with partner Karen James and seven friends, will be staying at the spooky Muncaster Castle, Cumbria, next month, in aid of the Make A Wish charity.

The group will spend the night in The Tapestry Room where most of the hauntings occur. Darren, aged 35, said: "We've been to other haunted places in Britain for a laugh but this is the first time we've done this for charity."

Darren is looking for local businesses to sponsor him. He can be contacted on 01204 704697.
